Business coaching

Turning plans into effective actions

How often do you get the chance to step back and reflect on the big issues in your business? The more senior your position, the more complex the opportunities and problems that confront you and the more important your decisions become.

Better decision-making can lead to greater success, a more motivated workforce, increased stakeholder engagement and significant improvements in financial performance.

Executive coaching provides the opportunity for your key people to clarify their thinking, planning and actions.

We offer coaches with a variety of styles and wide-ranging backgrounds to enable a close match to be made with an individual’s needs. An effective coach does not need specialist knowledge of the field in which you operate.

Issues faced by business leaders that can be helped by coaching include the following:

Leadership and personal effectiveness

Building a successful management team

Transition - from start-up to consolidation

Generating customer loyalty

Delegation and empowerment - managing through others

Effective goal-setting

Understanding people issues around organisational change

Work Life Balance - coping with stress
Clarifying the vision and mission

Developing strategies for growth

Dealing with complexity, confusion and uncertainty

Being aware of the external context

Establishing diversity in senior management

Managing risk - adapting to constantly changing environments

Becoming a learning organisation - factoring people into the change equation

Linking HR decisions to strategy

“Power Hours”

Too often in today’s competitive work environment senior people find themselves in complex situations, making difficult decisions without the confidential support they feel they need.   It may be that appropriate help is not available or that people feel unable to ask for help.  Whatever the reason, “Power Hour” coaching is an innovative solution specifically designed to provide support to senior management.

Coaching works not through providing answers, but through facilitating the process of reaching answers.    It provides a confidential space where the individual can reflect, analyse and clarify issues, enabling them to decide on the best option.  Most individuals leave sessions feeling focussed and reenergised. Many are relieved to have had an opportunity to articulate their concerns with someone who will listen without judgement and, in confidence, act as an impartial sounding board.

The added value of coaching is that it suggests new ways of thinking about issues in order to reach more effective solutions.  The individual’s experience of the process builds the ability to think more creatively and powerfully in future.

For many people the barrier to open discussion is one of trust.   Providing a fixed confidential contact for coaching within your organisation can overcome this.  As the coach’s efforts with individuals produce results, individual and organisational trust grows.  This helps to ensure people are comfortable using the service, and reduces the awkwardness typically encountered when discussing something significant with someone new.

The strength of Olivia’s approach in Power Hours is that she combines a background in occupational psychology (where she has an MSc) with being a certified coach.   Committed to life-long learning, she has a very positive attitude to personal development and is used to working at senior levels in both the public and private sector.  Her analytical skills, maturity of judgement and breadth of experience enable her to provide perceptive coaching with a quiet assurance that is effective at the highest levels of the organisation.

Executive Power Hours are a flexible personalised way of ensuring that people receive the support they need to achieve the objectives of the organisation.  Once a coaching relationship is established the service can be customised.  It can be done over the phone or face-to-face, occupy from 15 to 90 minutes, with additional follow-up support by phone, fax or email.  The “Power Hour” offering can be tailored to meet your own needs or those of your company - whether we are called in as and when required or retained on a regular basis; charges can be negotiated accordingly.

For a no-obligation discussion about coaching, or to discuss the possibilities of Power Hours please contact us by phone or email.
